This inaction was repeated many times, especially regarding the hoped for restoration of your very historic coble Golden Gleam; now rotting away at St Peters. A very poor reflection on any so called Heritage Trust
Golden Gleam had been well protected was not rotting away but was stuck in the yard at St Peters because he had persuaded the other NEMT Trustees that NFHT under Proposals 1 and 2 would be charged for the work done by a team of volunteers, for a stay of 3 months would be about £1,800, while at the same time there had been no charge for work done by many of the same volunteers on the lifeboat Henry Frederick Swan over 19 years.
At the time I thought it was a little bit more than just a personal spat between Mr Renwick and a former Chairman of NEMT and wrote to Mr Renwick a day later about a broken promise:-
May I remind you that she lies rotting because, you as Chair of NEMT broke your promise made on in October 2022 to take her onboard because you now claim via the Coble and Keelboat Society that, as the Golden Gleam is not owned by NEMT, you will no longer have anything to do with her.
I think you owe Peter an apology before next Friday.
The apology was never given but such was Mr Renwick’s personal attack on the Chairman of the NFHT it became clear that by the 14th of March 2024 some of the other NFHT Trustees were thinking of asking the coble restorers in Bridlington to take on the Golden Gleam but I was not so certain and wrote on the 14th of March 2024:-
I think Richard has a point. It is a possible way forward. NEMT under the current regime, appear be more concerned who owns a vessel rather than whether it should be restored and as a result they are so short of work that they are building a kit-boat, from Jordan Boats in Carlisle, with the help of South Shields Sea Cadets.
Alec was no better than a hypocrite when he blames you for leaving her rotting in St Peters.
It also occurred to me that the way Mr Renwick was acting, was not what one expects of the Chairman of a Charity such as the North East Maritime Trust and thought a protest about his conduct should be made on nemaritimetrust.co.uk but discovered that I could no longer log into it. Unable to log into a website that I had maintained on behalf of the two Trusts NEMT and NFHT, with hardly complaint, for over ten years!
While I could not log into nemaritimetrust.co.uk, I could view the latest posts and saw that they had been made by chockerbloc, the username Mr Renwick had been using in 2020 when he had abused my trust in 2020 to remove of not only all of the references to NFHT but also all the work done by the likes of Gordon Brown and others with Fred Crowell’s help on the vessels, Rachel D, Favourite, Sovereign, Royal Diadem II and Peggy in the years prior to 2011.
Confirmation that I had always owned the nemaritimetrust.co.uk was given out by them in June 2024 regarding an upgrade to it and theharbourview.co.uk when they suggested that if I acted quickly I could use a proxy to overwrite what I had recreated with IONOS with the version left behind by Mr Renwick.
Their offer was declined as I had no wish to overwrite what I was re-creating with my new provider with what Mr Renwick had left behind when he had me excluded from nemaritimetrust.co.uk by giving misinformation the one of TSOHost’s Agents in the first months of 2024.
I had protested to the Agent, Martin @ Tsohost Support, on Friday the 15th March 2024, that I could no longer log into the website of which I had been an administrator for ten years and

It was soon after the Chairman of NEMT posted his opinion of the Trustees of the Northumbrian Fisheries Heritage Trust on offered to resign his Trusteeship the NFHT and it was gratefully was accepted which left this ex-Trustee free to comment appropiately on the conduct of NEMT’s Chair.
Re resignation letter:- a look-up on nfht.co.uk will reveal that the site no longer has any content and therefore contains no references to either NEMT or NFHT.
