Mr Renwick, the Chairman of NEMT gained total control of nemaritimetrust.co.uk by the simple deceit of persuading an agent for the Website Provider, TSOHost, in early 2024, to make him its administrator, while at the same time denying its owner, myself, access. The site that had been run by me on behalf of NEMT without complaint for over a decade.
When I discovered that Mr Renwick had changed the site from publishing details of what NEMT had achieved in restoring various vessels for nearly two decades, by adding a post that more resembled the likes of one that could be found on various Social Media platforms such as the one called X, I contacted TSOHost with a view to having the control of my site returned to me but but failed.
I had hoped to be reinstated as the site’s administrator but Martin from TSOHost, to whom I spoke, would not do that for me, but he did at least remove the administrative control of the site from Mr Renwick and I believe it was because he saw that Mr Renwick’s post to my site was well out of order:-
Unfortunately our site has been almost destroyed by scamming, but we are trying to sort it out. As you can see, certain nasty Trustees of Northumbrian Fishing Heritage Trust (NFHT) have deleted some of our precious content. Pathetic, isn’t it!
However, this disgraceful act has pointed NEMT in the direction of rebuilding our now outdated website, which we hope will soon be active.
Thank you for your patience.
Out of order, not only because that post resembled some of the more troublesome stuff one can scarcely avoid if one uses Social Media regularly but more importantly, from my point of view, it contained the outright lie that someone from the Northumbrian Fisheries Heritage Trust had been deleting any of its content.
Anyone who has been following the pages on nemaritimetrust.co.uk for the last 15 months will know that it was not I, nor anyone else apart from Mr Renwick who had deleted a large swathe of its content. He and Martin left me with no option but to switch the site provider away from TSOHost if I wanted to regain control of my own website and this was completed in April 2024.
I was aware that all of the content would be lost on switching providers and created a temporary site in theharbourview.co.uk so that some of the original Website would be preserved and although a large amount of it had gone, there were still a hundred or so posts left on the site but I soon discovered that I had not archived the site for some time and had neither the time nor the patience to copy the remaining posts to the temporary site but the archive was easy to copy and while it no longer exists on the temporary site, it was faithfully copied, gaps and all, to the current version of nemaritimetrust.co.uk.
I was unable to persuade the Martin return control of my site bac to me and I guess it may have been because he did not realise that I was the nasty NFHT Trustee to whom Mr Renwick was referring when he said:-
The only way to regain access to the WordPress admin page would be to get in touch with the owner of the account where the domain is registered.
I had indeed passed the cost of maintaining the website to NEMT some time between taking up lodgings in Amble in 2014 and 2017 when I bought a house there and I should stress that as I no longer was a regular visitor to the workshop/slipway the old site quickly became a bit redundant especially as much of what went on was being recorded on social media such as https://www.facebook.com/henryfrederick.swan.
Mr Renwick is probably aware as I am of the shortcomings of only using social media to record the goings on at an important charitable trust such as the North East Maritime Trust and may explain his reaction to the nemaritimetrust.co.uk over the last five years and why he has created a website for himself, in which he claimed:-
THIS IS THE REAL NEMT. Accept no other.

PS – since May 2014 the original site had attracted the attention of about 800,000 viewers by the time it was replaced in April 2024 and this week, on 10th June 2025, the re-established site passed the 100,000 mark.
It was in January 2024 that the shortcomings of the ‘Horizon System’ in use by the Post Office were highlighted in the one of the most popular TV series of the year: Mr Bates vs The Post Office and not unrelated was the fact that the first of TSOHost’s agents was happy to accept the misinformation about who administered nemaritimetrust.co.uk given her by Mr Renwick and allowed him to take control of it in a similar way that the Horizon System allowed the corruption of the postmasters/mistresses accounts.
