I protested to the South Shields Planning Office more then a dozen years ago about the goings on between many of those involved and noticed on my last visit to South Shields in April this year, that the KG III ECP is still blocked off from Comical corner to where it meets the old Call Centre by a wooden fence covering over what had been the Coastal Path from which the flags had been removed. Please see the third picture above. It is also very clear that all the bricks had been lifted from the car park and no start has been made on the third block of flats.
If one looks carefully you will see that the railings erected by South Tyneside Council are still present in front of the downstream section of the old Call Center but missing from in front of the upstream part. The railings are also missing from the section which includes Mr Mark Turnbull’s boat lift as far downstream as the gap between the two former Call Centre buildings.
That was part of KG III ECP and to gain access to a traditional fishing vessel the North East Maritime Trust moored in the so called South Shields Marina, picture below, it was necessary to contact Mr Turnbull on at least two occasions.

I had assumed that the North East Maritime Trust held a key to the gate but I was wrong as Mr Turnbull only allows very limited access to his ‘Marina’ else one would come across a second block to access to the King Charles III ECP as the fifth illustration of my post of 9th October 2021 shows.

The third stopping of access to the King Charles III ECP was also shown in the post five and a half years ago. It was the third picture in the post and notice that not only have the flagstones have been lifted from the KC3ECP but the bricks that used to form the car park for the old call centre are missing as well. It simply means that South Tyneside Council have not only turned a blind eye to the missing railings from round the mouth of Market Dock, the have also turned a blind eye to the flags missing from the England Coastal Path and loss of all the bricks that made the Garlands Call Center car park.
