Claim and Counter Claim

Between the Trustees of NEMT and one of its long standing Members.

At the beginning of 2023 it was becoming clear the Chairman of the North East Maritime Trust with the help of people like Keith Barnard was deliberately withholding monies owing to the Northumbrian Fisheries Heritage Trust. One of the tactics employed by them to delay the payment was to accuse me of making slanderous accusations and sending aggressive personal emails but they were lying, found out, and the debt of £13,000 was paid in May 2023.

It took four months to go through the legal wrangles before the debt of £13,000 was paid and I can confirm that I have never recieved an apology from either Mr Renwick or Mr Barnard.

Mr Barnard and Mr Renwick parted compay before the failed attempt at a relaunch of the Henry Frederick Swan in 2024

To Peter Re: NEMT and NFHT: I sincerely hope that the funds can be accounted for before they hold their meeting on January 14th or if not, a good explanation of why the money owed and cannot be paid will have to be given by the Chairman.

To Peter Alec has just, falsely accused me of making slanderous accusations and demanded evidence, when I presented him and one of his fellow Trustees with my paper ‘Objection to proposed fraud by the charity – NEMT’
He then threatened me with legal action

Further to your previous emails
Can you tell me if this is your personal opinion or does it represent the case for NFHT.

To NFHT
Please find the following attached by Mick Dawson an NFHT director, most of you will not know him.
However apart from more aggressive, personalised emails to me, which I find objectionable. This is the only communication by anyone relative to the ‘Proposal’ to NFHT received so far (in response to replies requested within 7 days prior to the next NEMT meeting)

Firstly, I was at that time not a director but a Trustee of NFHT, secondly, more than half did know me and thirdly, that there were any aggressive and personalised emails from me to anyone in NEMT, including Mr Renwick was a complete fabrication
It so happens that my last email to Mr Renwick was far from being aggressive and objectionable.

Re Alec

Objection to proposed fraud.
Please see the message below from Peter about Alec Renwick.
Should we leave it to you, Richard, to make any response – if you think it is wise to respond?
NB – I was not copied into Mr Renwick’s Email to Mr Weightman but I was copied into Mr Weightman’s email and wisely Mr Branson did not get drawn into ‘a slanging match’.

Slanderous Accusations. Dear Sir , I am a trustee of NEMT and as such am one of the people against whom you are making the grounds less , mindless accusations.

Mr Barnard did join the slanging match and was no better than Mr Renwick when he falsely accused me of making accusations against him. I can say this because I have never sent him an email and he was not copied into into the email to Mr Renwick about the Proposed Embezzlement of NFHT Funds.

Libellous Accusations: It looks like I’ve rattled Mr Barnard’s cage as well Alec’s which rather confirms my view that he is the driving force behind the fraud to deprive the NFHT of about £18,000.

During the four months that it took to go through the legalities before the debt of £13,000 was paid it had obviously become clear to those looking at what had been said in January 2023, that both Messrs Barnard and Renwick had been lying when they told the other Trustees of NEMT that I had been making accusations agaist them.
